In- Painting
In-Painting refers to painting in areas of loss in a mural of painting. Sometimes being on Architectural elements or an easel work. This work is often paired with paint analysis and detailed efforts to conserve as much as possible. Matching seamlessly the existing paint layers with using as much original paints and materials as possible in the effort.
Consolidation
Consolidating is the process of strengthening paint layers, and creating a barrier layer between existing layer to be able to work on top of existing work while still being removable. Flaking over- paint can be consolidated with conservation safe adhesives or organic substrates such as traditional shellac or fish, or hide glue.
Paint Removal
Nadja Studios Conservation LLC will remove paint from old historic architecture to reveal the layers underneath from original time period. Occasionally using methods of advanced paint testing in labs to be able to find results of original paint layers and lead toxicity. Lead- paint is handled with according to all safety standards and regulations.
In- Painting Services
NSC LLC. will use conservation standards in properly removing and adding paint to missing areas of the mural or losses. The foremost concern is to conserve as much of the original as possible and in- paint the losses as close to the like-ness of the original artists hand and brushstrokes.
